Community Outreach

Sembcorp Marine aims to be an active corporate citizen and a caring organisation.

Committed to making a positive difference to the community, the Group directs its corporate responsibility efforts in the areas of education, community development, national unity, industry outreach, the arts and the environment.

Youths and Education

A strong supporter in providing educational opportunities for all, Sembcorp Marine strives to motivate youths to develop their potential and pursue their dreams. The Group reaches out to students from lower-income families through its School Book Assistance Grant (SchoolBAG) programme, disbursing $3.6 million in grants to more than 17,500 recipients since 2001.

Sembcorp Marine established the SCM-Lua Cheng Eng Scholarship Programme in 2011 to commemorate the Group's former Chairman and his significant contributions to the company and the marine & offshore industry. For the next 10 years, the Group targets to award up to two scholarships each year under this programme to fund tuition fees and allowances.

Support for the Community & the Arts

Sembcorp Marine sponsors a wide range of community projects and charitable events through its corporate giving programme. A keen supporter of the arts in Singapore, Sembcorp Marine supports several cultural events to promote arts appreciation within the community.

Nation Building and Industry Partnerships

Over the years, the Group has been actively participating and sponsoring the National Day Parade – a reflection of its steadfast commitment towards nation building in Singapore.

In partnership with industry organisations and associations, the Group actively promotes the industry and extends its outreach through various national and international platforms. These programmes include trade exhibitions, training courses, dialogue sessions, award presentations as well as networking activities.

Corporate Volunteerism

Sembcorp Marine is committed to making a difference through its contributions to society. It continues to support the initiatives of its adopted charity organisation the Students Care Service (Yishun Centre) through its donations and volunteer assistance.
