Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz, a wholly-owned shipyard of Jurong Shipyard, operates from an 82.5 hectare site. The shipyard is located in the Municipal of Aracruz, in the State of Espirito Santo, Brazil and about 80 km by road north of the capital of Vitoria.
Strategically located close to the Espirito Santo Basin, one of the recently discovered giant pre-salt oil basins of Brazil, EJA has a long coastline of 1.6 km and will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including a drydock, slipways, berthing quays and ancillary steel and piping facilities.
Engineering design for the new shipyard has commenced with development and construction works to be undertaken in stages. On completion, the shipyard will have capabilities to undertake construction of drillships, semi-submersible and jackup rigs, platforms and supply vessels, FPSO integration and topside modules fabrication, in addition to the traditional activities of drilling rig repairs, ship repairs and modification works.
