Acergy S.A. Acquires Borealis Heavy-Lift Pipelay Vessel from Nordic Heavy Lift ASASingapore, December 17, 2009: Sembawang Shipyard, a subsidiary of Sembcorp Marine, wishes to announce that Acergy S.A. (NASDAQ-GS: ACGY; Oslo Stock Exchange: ACY) has acquired the Borealis, a strategic enabler, from Nordic Heavy Lift ASA, Norway. The Borealis, currently under construction in Sembawang Shipyard, is a DP3 dynamic positioning vessel equipped with a 5,000T crane. Following the acquisition by Acergy, the vessel will be converted from a pure Heavy Lift vessel to a Heavy-Lift Pipelay vessel for operations in deepwater and harsh environments worldwide. Acergy plans to install a 1,000T J-Lay tower and state-of-the-art 600T S-Lay equipment. The vessel will also be fitted with a range of support systems and construction equipment for worldwide deepwater and harsh-environment operations. Construction work is progressing as per schedule in Sembawang Shipyard. The above is not expected to have a material impact on the earnings and net tangible assets per share of Sembcorp Marine for the year ending December 31, 2009.
